WELCOME TO JIM'S AUTISM BLOG

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting our blog. My wife and I created this blog to chronicle our experience while raising a son with Asperger's syndrome. Since our son was diagnosed with an ASD at age 5, we've had a lot of questions. Lucky for us we have a great support network in place. And our blog gives us an opportunity to share what we've learned with our readers. We hope you find our blog informative and interesting. Thanks again for visiting.

"It seems that for success in science and art, a dash of autism is essential." Dr Hans Asperger 1906-1980

UPDATE ON A HAMILTON FAMILYS BATTLE WITH AUTISM

Last month in the April edition of the North End Breezes, there was an article about a family from Hamilton, who have been fighting for equality in regards to treatment available for their twin autistic daughters.  In the May edition of the breezes, there was an update to the original April story.

After much hard work including contacting program coordinators and organizing volunteers, Paul Ceretti was able to create his own program in which both of his daughters are now enrolled in.  The program is called AAP (autism assistance program), and the end goal is free support for any child with autism.

Paul Ceretti is a real advocate for those children who suffer from autism and his story is incredible.  Please take the time to read the full article here.  The article is on page 6.

    1. That's incredible Jewel. I have definitely noticed an improvement in Jacob's behaviour since we got him a dog. This is a great story.
