On Saturday, we had a huge windstorm with 100 km/h gusts that tore a section of shingles from our roof. And of course, the section is above Jacob's room. Luckily it hasn't rained or Jacob would've either had to change rooms or sleep in a rain coat. We also had scheduled to do our taxes on Monday, but obviously we had to cancel our appointment. And to top it all off, it looks like Jacob is going to be under the weather for at least a portion of the March break. I was so sick that I actually decided to take some Dayquil for a change. Jacob on the other hand still absolutely refuses to take any medicine of any kind. And we're to ill to even consider a suppository. Jacob's emotions have been at the extreme all week, which has been interesting. If only his Asperger's knew he had the flu.
We did get our roof repaired today and luckily my friend who owns a roofing company gave us a great deal. He came down quickly and it only cost $250. So one crisis was taken care of. I'm still so weak, there's no way I could have fixed our roof on my own. I've been barely able to read the updates from my favourite blogs because at this point even reading makes me tired. We also got a call on Monday from the court house, in which we were told that the court transcripts from the pit bull case were ready to be picked up. But I can hardly walk around the block, let alone down town. Maybe tomorrow I'll make the trip.
I'd also like to apologize to anyone who's left a comment for me this week, because I haven't felt well enough to respond. But I'll get back to my regular blogging ASAP. We haven't even been able to plan any special March break activities for Jacob, not that he'd be physically able to go. I always try to look on the bright side of things, so I'm happy that Jacob is sick now and not on his birthday in 2 weeks. OMG. We still haven't made any plans for that yet either. Maybe we'll just stay close to home and have a small family get together or something. At the rate we're going, we'll all probably still not be at 100% come March 24Th.
I don't think that all 3 of us have ever been sick at the same time before. But like the old saying, when it rains it pours. I'd also like to send out our thoughts and prayers to the families affected by the recent storms in the USA.
And this is what happens when you talk about being healthy!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally feel for you. I really do. I've been living it for about 3 months solid and when the hubs got sick it was all over. I gave up.
Get better soon and don't worry about blog-land, we'll still be here.
Thanks Liz. Hopefully I'm not sick for too much longer. 3 months is way too long to be sick. I hope you feel better too.
DeleteACK!! I'm so sorry for everything that's going on!! That saying sure fits nicely here, huh? Really happy your contractor friend was able to help out with one of the crises! **hugs** Hope you all feel better soon. And what Lizbeth said. Time in bloggy land works different, so don't you worry 'bout a thing! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice words Mama. I'm feeling a little better today, but my wife is stii pretty ill.
