WELCOME TO JIM'S AUTISM BLOG

Hi everyone and thanks for visiting our blog. My wife and I created this blog to chronicle our experience while raising a son with Asperger's syndrome. Since our son was diagnosed with an ASD at age 5, we've had a lot of questions. Lucky for us we have a great support network in place. And our blog gives us an opportunity to share what we've learned with our readers. We hope you find our blog informative and interesting. Thanks again for visiting.

BEST SCHOOL DAY EVER

This week has been incredibly busy for all of us here.  There's the new home purchase going on, plus lawyer's and broker's meetings and ongoing renovations on our old house as we now prep if for tenants.  So for the past couple weeks, Jacob's behaviour/performance in school hasn't been the greatest, simply because of all the overwhelming circumstances.

Then today, Jacob had the best school day he's ever had.  Really?  I was almost in disbelief when Jacob's EAs told me about it.  Jacob did all of his school work, he passed 2 tests (math and spelling) and he has no homework at all tonight.  It's nice when Jacob has days like this, because it makes us feel like all the hard work is paying off.

Hopefully his improved behaviour continues.  It's so hard to give the necessary 100% when there's all these other things going on.  Tomorrow we have a home appraisal scheduled, we still have to meet with our mortgage specialist and the official move in day is November 15th.  Which is exactly one month away.  But, we still have to focus on Jacob's schooling because even though today was the best day ever, we know that life with Asperger's is just like a roller coaster.  For every up there's always a down.

  1. Home buyers and sellers who expect an appraisal to sail through to closing without a hitch may be surprised to discover that Home Appraisal today can be problematic. The reasons for the change are complex, but there's no question that mortgage lenders have started to demand more reviews and do-overs

  2. You're right John, buying our new home was much different compared to our old one.
