The bathroom renovation is in full swing. Everything is torn out and prepped for inspection. The tub is in place, but its not hooked up yet. The guys are starting up again tomorrow and they should be almost finished by the end of the week. Also tomorrow morning, our basement waterproofing is set to begin.
In order to create enough space to use an excavator, 32 feet of my wood fence is going to be removed and kept in my backyard. Then once they start digging, the company is going to put the dirt in my neighbours drive way. I'm worried about my fence and the end condition of my neighbours driveway. The company I hired ensures me that everything will be 100% the same when they're done, but I can't help but worry. I don't want an unhappy neighbour this soon in our residency. lol
On top of the numerous renovation worries, I too worry about how Jacob's going to handle the noise and chaos this week. Last week was different because he was in school before the workers stared each morning, then by the time he got home, the workers were almost ready to go home. Now he'll be home for the whole day while the work is being done and since the bathroom is right outside his bedroom door, he can't retreat to the peace and quiet of his room should he become overwhelmed.
I guess we're going to have to keep Jacob extra busy during the upcoming week. The guys want to start at about 8AM each day, so it appears that we won't be sleeping in at all. We'll just have to spend as much time out of the house as possible, but lucky for us, most of our family lives close by. And the outside stuff should be done by Thursday, plus the loud bathroom work should also be over around that time too.
Normally we say that the March break goes by too quickly, buy this year, we can't wait for it to be finished. Once these renovations get done, we'll actually be able to have a house warming party. I know we've been here for a few months now, but it's better late than never.
That's nice of your neighbors to let you put dirt on their driveway. Sounds like things are getting done fast. My son has gone through at least 3 big renovations starting from age 7 and he did fine. I hope Jacob does too!
ReplyDeleteMy neighbours are pretty cool. Especially since the renos have run longer than expected. And Jacob is doing well. The more I get to know you and your family, the more we seem the same. Thanks for the comments.
