JACOB'S GRADE 3 REPORT CARD

It's the end of June, which signals the end of another school year, which of course means the summer holiday.  But it also means that Jacobs report card is coming home.  We generally have a good idea about how Jacob does in school, yet its always interesting to read how Jacob did in greater detail.

Naturally, and like many children, Jacob is good in some areas, but not as good in others.  Jacob excels in organizational skills and independent work, which we pretty much knew as he is very organized and independent in all aspects of his life.  But he does have issues with social behaviour, which seems to be the occurring trend.

There were also some subjects that Jacob didnt really take part in like gym and music, mostly because of the noise levels and the lack of control involved in each of those subjects.  Yet in all other subjects, he received a C.  Jacob is on an IEP which also allows him to start school 20 mins later and also let's him leave school 30 mins sooner.  It's beneficial because of all the commotion involved with getting kids in, and out of school, but it does hinder his educational progress.

On a fun note, yesterday was the school play day/barbecue, which we attended for the first time since Jacob began school.  Harvey's supplied the food at the BBQ, and there was a band and inflatable jumper gyms that Jacob loved.  And there were even pony rides that students were allowed on.  Jacob looked so funny on the pony.  He wasn't sure at first, but at the end he really enjoyed it.

So now there's only 2 school days left and these days are usually more laid back, so things seem much more relaxed.  But before we stress about Jacob going into grade 4, or turning 10 years old, we're just going to enjoy the summer, and we're going to do our best to beat the heat.
